Portfolio

Although I grew up in the metropolitan city of Seoul, South Korea, I have always identified with the sea women of Jeju island which is located in the southern tip of Korean Peninsula. These women were as comfortable on land and in the water. I must have retained some of that life-sustaining memory in my genes as I feel charged with courage, strength and deep appreciation of the beauty of the human form in water. Creating these swimmer images is for me almost a shamanic ritual to evoke that connection with my ancestral past.
